Evening Standard, The Standard: Sustainable Travel
The Evening Standard’s Sustainable Travel podcast series revealed how to travel the world without wrecking it. Eco travel expert and journalist Juliet Kinsman and the Standard’s Jon Weeks share practical advice, trade stories of adventure, and interview industry experts with a view to showing a mainstream audience how easy it is to be more sustainable in their travel choices.
Travelling sustainably is something lots of people want to do, but few know how. The Evening Standard teamed up with Iberostar, a company which has one of the strongest environmental records in the hospitality industry, to create a practical advice series with serious credibility and fill in a market gap for information.
The podcast led a 360 multimedia campaign, providing the audience with the approachability of warm, knowledgeable podcast hosts, leading them into a wider connected ecosystem of articles, information and advice across The Standard’s print, digital and social platforms. Following the launch, all six episodes had become the most downloaded of all time, outperforming both project and client KPIs significantly. The project has been received extremely well by the wider travel industry too, cementing the Evening Standard’s place as a leading voice in sustainable travel and generating significant interest with future partners.
We love launches. Here are some of the best podcast launches from publishers over the past 12 months.
